Course and Career Hub

Welcome to NERI’s Energy Course and Career Hub. The Hub below is for anyone who wants to know about professional roles associated with careers in the energy sector, including industry, government and research roles. You can also find out about the energy-related university courses related to those roles. Remember that individual courses, or even degrees, won’t guarantee you a job, but knowing which courses are related to which roles can help you position yourself for the energy sector career you want.

Advisors in the energy sector have checked the information about employment roles. The information about courses has been drawn from the universities’ websites, so it is current for 2009.

In the ‘Careers’ window, use the drop-down menu to search for careers in the list, or just scroll through the list using the buttons to the right of the search box. For each role, there is related information including keywords. You can use the keywords to search for role-related courses in the ‘Courses’ window. To see the full range of related courses, search on each related keyword. Some keywords are generic and will bring up a wide range of courses, including the ones in which you are most interested.

We have included links to other sources of information about careers. These sources provide information about many different roles, for example in an individual company or organisation. We have also included links to university and research organisations.
